As an HR Consultant, you will be an integral part of a collaborative team focused on delivering seamless services and programs to our clients and customers.

What you'll be doing
- Develop and maintain a strategic business partner relationship with stakeholders based on in-depth knowledge of each unit / department, their goals, needs and expectations
- Provide expert support, advice and guidance on employee and labour relations issues
- Liaise with union leadership and representatives and work with all stakeholders to foster positive, harmonious and proper labour relations
- Provide expert advice to leaders on the interpretation and application of new or current collective agreements and on other labour and employment related matters, such as policies and procedures, collective bargaining, grievance handling and resolution, mediation and arbitration, conflict investigation and resolution, disability and attendance management, discipline and performance management
- Conduct workplace investigations ensuring defensible and reasonable due process is followed and documentation is sufficient to stand up to challenges and potential litigation
- Develop and deliver HR training / information sessions to leaders as relevant and applicable
What we're looking for
- Bachelor's degree and / or College diploma in Human Resources and / or a related field
- Previous hospital experience is considered an asset
- 3 to 5 years' experience in Human Resources
- Minimum 2 years' experience in labour relations
- Collaborative mind-set that values strong performance and accountability, open and honest communication, and demonstrates integrity, respect, consistency and fairness
- Exceptional judgment, interpersonal and relationship management skills
- Demonstrated consulting, mediation and facilitation skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to listen, persuade and achieve consensus
- Superior investigation skills
