Overall Responsibilities

Reporting to the Quality Control Supervisors (Chemistry or Microbiology) The Quality Control Technician will work with the Technologist in ensuring tall Jamieson Wellness products have met all chemical, physical and Microbiological criteria prior to use.

Sale or supply by following all procedures and guidelines as prescribed by the Quality Control Department.

Specific Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • To follow instructions and procedures as outlined by the Quality Control Senior Technologists or Supervisors.
  • To perform daily sampling of raw materials and purchased items (i.e. purchased bulk, components and labels) upon receiving.
  • To perform daily sampling of manufactured items and finished goods upon completion.
  • To maintain overall sanitation of the sampling booths and their contents.
  • To maintain quality documentation logs, checklists and the daily receiving reports.
  • To perform log in of all sampled items into the Quality Control Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
  • To be able to perform minor lab testing activities in the chemistry and / or microbiology laboratory (i.e. Physical testing, media preparation, administration duties) under the supervision of a Quality Control Senior Technologist or Supervisor.
  • Working in compliance with the company’ s Health & Safety Policies / SOP’s including but not limited to the Safety Responsibilities Procedure.
  • Will comply with Good Manufacturing Practices in all GMP sensitive areas of Jamieson Laboratories Ltd. facilities.
  • To perform other related duties and projects as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Requirements

  • Ontario Secondary School Diploma required.
  • Two year Post-Secondary diploma in laboratory sciences.
  • Proficiency with application software (LIMS), Knowledge of Microsoft Office and efficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to communicate clearly.
  • Work independently and with close supervision.
  • Able to work shift work and to work overtime to complete projects in a timely fashion as required.
  • Must have own transportation to sample and transport products from other facilities (DC, INTL, Contract Manufacturers).
