The opportunity :
Reporting to the AVP, Managed Program & Products, the Analyst will be responsible for supporting the various managed programs at Wellington-Altus. The incumbent will be engaged in the development and maintenance of all approved products, initial due diligence and risk assessment, product monitoring, and identification of a recommended product sub-set, including the creation, maintenance, and dissemination of product information.
The Analyst will present product recommendations to the product committee for approval. This role will serve as the main contact for product-related requests and support needs for internal partners, existing IA teams, and all transition and corporate development requirements. The Analyst will be an important contributor in product and program development to enhance and improve both advisor and end client experiences and outcomes.
Key responsibilities include :
Coordinating onboarding of new managers and / or mandates to Crescent SMA shelf, Wellington-Altus Private Wealth product shelf, and investment monitoring.Contributing to the oversight of the private / OM product shelf including annual due diligence of managers and mandates, assessment of advisor requests for new OM products.Supporting growth of the organization by understanding internal partners’ needs and requirements and suggesting to the AVP areas of improvement.Conducting detailed due diligence and research on public and private / alternative investment strategies and products.Maintaining relationships with assigned asset managers and product issuers and serving as the key contact between this group and Wellington-Altus Private Wealth.Serving as a subject matter expert on assigned products.Supporting advisor teams through the development and maintenance of KYP collateral for all approved and recommended products, sub-managers, and products held in Wellington-Altus’ managed programs.Collaborating and supporting marketing, sales, IA teams, and compliance on all product-related matters.Supporting the development of product collateral and product / strategy training materials.Reviewing requests to have new products delivered through OM originating from advisor teams (existing and transitioning teams).Contributing to the maintenance of the risk rating framework, security risk rating, and approved products listing.Conducting book reviews (securities, risk ratings, etc.) for transitioning advisors to assess viability and ease of transfer of products.Performing preliminary product screening against requirements and if appropriate, presenting the case for due diligence for those products meeting initial requirements. The Analyst may be assigned to lead the due diligence process and present recommendations to the product committee for approval.Maintaining the approved product list, including additions and deletions of Private / OM products.Engaging with Compliance to ensure risk ratings for products are correct and up to date.Providing training and advice to Wellington-Altus advisors on product features, risk ratings and providing assessment and recommendations for security risk ratings.Providing mentorship and learning support to junior staff.Supporting advisors with respect to securities research and guided portfolios implementation, including assistance in guided portfolio selection and adoption.Supporting the Product & Platforms team in managing advisor access to Guided Portfolio research and managing the distribution costs thereof.Collaborating with Lead PM regarding changes and / or enhancements to the SMA / UMA programs to ensure alignment with Advisor needs and ensure Wellington-Altus brings and maintains the best-in-class managers to the program.The ideal candidate will possess :
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, accounting, finance, or similar field of study.Minimum 5 years relevant work experience in the financial services / investment industry.Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation (minimum Level II enrollment) or Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) (minimum Level II enrollment). May consider Level I candidates if they have relevant experience with a strong investment acumen.Proficiency with the MS Office suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and Outlook.Experience using Morningstar, Envestnet, Bloomberg, and / or other investment performance databases is considered an asset.High attention to detail and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced work environment.Strong people skills, including the ability to engage with internal and external stakeholders.Able to independently prioritize and accomplish tasks with minimal supervision.Entrepreneurial spirit with a strong willingness to learn.Good financial industry knowledge and product understanding.Conditions of employment :
