We are hiring an experienced Quality Control Inspector to ensure products meet standards of quality standards and safety contribute to and improve CBBs Quality System and continuous improvement programs.
- Afternoon Shift - 2 : 30pm - 2am (includes a shift premium)
Experience & Knowledge
Understanding and experience of manufacturing with different materials specifications complex turning and five-axis machining assembly and special processes is an asset.
Perform visual and dimensional inspections including FAI and Final Inspection on various manufactured components and assemblies in compliance with the companys Quality Assurance System and associated standards and customer requirements to meet and exceed the needs of the business.Perform incoming inspection as per requirements utilizing the Romer arm as a CMM and as a 3D Scanners as appropriate and various measuring equipment. Create incoming inspection reports for customer review.Create CMM programs accurately and efficiently. Perform manual measurements on the CMM when required.Perform in-process inspections as required utilizing the CMM as well as shop floor inspection equipment. This includes First Offs and operation validation with appropriate dispositionReview and manage NDT and Material Certifications hard and soft copies. Certifications to be stored for easy retrieval and retained accordingly.Perform final inspections and complete and compile all required quality reports / documents for customer submission.Prepare and fully document required inspection reports and associate documentsValidate and perform in-process inspectionsPerform First Article Inspections work to control plans and ITPsCalibration and calibration managementAcceptability decision making and dispositioning of non-conformances Root Cause Analysis Cause and Corrective ActionsEffectively interact and participate with Production and Engineering to maintain product supply and assist in new product introductionContributes and participates actively in continuous improvement activities promote quality achievement and performance improvement throughout the organizationAuditor for assigned auditsAbility to communicate and manage customers both externally and internally is a key attributeKey Requirements
. degree in mechanical engineering and quality associated discipline or equivalent experienceAppropriate quality certificationsAbility to work to standards and establish clearly defined quality methods to applyAbility to understand and read complex design drawings (metric / imperial) and GD&TMust be able to read and interpret complex drawings and use manual measuring toolsAbility to determine the best measurement method for the specific functionSolid working knowledge of quality methods and techniques including CMM programming and inspection methods and PC-DMISAbility to liaise with customer auditors and ensuring the execution of corrective action and compliance with customers specificationsAbility to write clear and concise technical and management system reportsAbility to prepare clear explanatory documentsFamiliar with ISO9001 : 2015 and Z299.3 (Nuclear)MS Office with strong MS Excel skillsUnderstanding of Lean principles and single piece flow manufacturing constraint managementNote : Occasional travel to customers or suppliers is required at times.
