About Us :

Marlborough Day Nursery ECS Ltd is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing inclusive, play-based, family-centered early intervention and education services for children with diverse needs. We operate out of BrightPath Kids centers in Calgary, Edmonton and Red Deer.

What will you be doing?

As a Lead Teacher, you will play a key role in supporting children with diverse learning needs while mentoring and guiding fellow educators. This role requires a blend of instructional expertise, leadership, and a commitment to inclusive, play-based education practices.

Job Responsibilities :

  • Develop and implement individualized program plans (IPPs) and interventions for children with varying needs.
  • Collaborate with educators, center directors and fellow resource teachers to design and adapt instructional materials.
  • Provide mentoring to teachers on effective strategies for supporting diverse learners.
  • Monitor and assess the progress of students receiving resource support.
  • Coordinate with parents, caregivers, and external specialists to ensure a holistic approach to every child’s success.

Qualifications :

  • Education :  Bachelor of Education Degree from an institution recognized by Alberta Education
  • Experience : Minimum of 3-5 years in a leadership position, with a focus on special education or resource teaching.
  • Certifications : Permanent Alberta Teaching Certificate
  • Skills and Attributes :

  • Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Strong knowledge of inclusive, play-based education practices and IPP development.
  • Problem-solving mindset and adaptability to meet diverse needs.
  • Passion for mentoring and professional development.
  • Commitment to fostering an inclusive and equitable learning environment.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Successful teaching experience with young children who present with complex learning needs, would be an asset

  • This is a 10-month contract from September to June and includes Winter and Spring break off.
