Payroll Specialist
We are looking for a detail-driven and results-oriented Payroll Specialist to join our collaborative Payroll & Benefits team. In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring the accurate and timely processing of payroll within a fast-paced, federally regulated, and unionized environment. You excel at managing multiple priorities, interpreting complex information, and maintaining a high level of accuracy and confidentiality.
Key Responsibilities
- Process payroll accurately and in compliance with internal policies, collective agreements, and CRA legislation.
- Interpret and apply provisions of multiple collective agreements to ensure correct pay calculations and entitlements.
- Partner closely with HR, Operations, and Finance teams to resolve payroll discrepancies and provide guidance.
- Support management through reporting, analysis, and acting as a delegate where required.
- Participate in, and at times lead, process improvement initiatives to streamline workflows and enhance payroll efficiency.
- Maintain thorough, organized documentation and uphold the highest standards of data integrity and confidentiality.
Requirements & Skills
Strong knowledge of CRA legislation and established payroll best practices.Advanced proficiency in payroll software and Excel (pivot tables, formulas, data analysis).Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal, with the ability to translate payroll concepts clearly to employees and leaders.Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines without compromising accuracy.Demonstrated leadership capability and the ability to act as a resource or delegate for management.Payroll Compliance Professional (PCP) designation is required.Qualifications
Minimum 3+ years of payroll experience, preferably in a unionized and / or federally regulated environment.Experience interpreting and applying collective agreements.Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills.Demonstrated experience supporting process improvements or system enhancements.Salary : $75,000
This position will be fully office-based, in our Vancouver airport location.
