The CFD Supervisor Level 1 Before & After spends their time in a supervisory capacity and provides direct program delivery to children ages 4-12 before and after school. The position is accountable for ensuring all child and youth programs provide quality care service and support to the participants and their families. The CFD Supervisor Level 1 Before & After partners with the Teachers and Registered Early Childhood Educators of the Full Day Learning Program to ensure that all YMCA Board Provincial and Municipal standards are met.
In this role you will :
- Plan and implement age-appropriate programming ensuring YMCA program standards and YMCA Core Values are met; Ensure compliance with all YMCA Board Provincial and Municipal standards.
- Deliver play-based programming based on the interests of the children providing a safe environment while understanding the individual needs of children and families and maintaining a supportive environment; immediately report all serious occurrences to the direct supervisor.
- Prepare quality weekly program planning and monthly calendars in agreement with YMCA and Board goals to meet the needs of members.
- Develop and sustain good working relationship with families and Extended Day program staff team; give leadership and guidance to program team to implement and adhere to Parent Communication Standards; respond to inquiries from families including voicemail response.
- Ensure the implementation and maintenance of YMCA Playing to Learn through coaching and guiding centre staff; maintain a close working relationship with YMCA supervisor ensuring ongoing communication and issues are shared.
- Develop and maintain professional relationships with community and other stakeholders including school Principals Vice Principals caretakers and secretaries licensing and Municipal Agencies; Public Health; Fire departments; YMCA families; Volunteers and students; YMCA Management; Community Partners; Resource support.
- Complete general administration tasks as required including updating forms as required update communication book daily childrens sign in and out; ensure Master Attendance is accurate and up to date and Subsidy attendance complete as required; Complete and submit staff time sheets as required Volunteer tracking and activation forms.
- Complete daily monthly check list forms ie; outdoor and indoor outdoor logbook fanny packs first aid fire drills opening and closing duties disinfecting charts; ensure compliance binder is kept compliant; all incident / accident reports completed and delivered in a timely manner.

You bring :
Early Childhood Education Diploma or Equivalent Training Acceptable (i.e. Pending Ministry Approval)Must be registered and a member in good standing in the College of Early Childhood Educators (CECE)Minimum two (2) years of experience in before and after school childcare or extended day programsA capacity to work within a multiple level reporting structure; demonstrated professionalism in working with School Board teachers and staff in delivery of shared quality programs to school familiesStrong organizational skills and ability to effectively prioritize responsibilitiesWell-developed interpersonal and relationship building skills; ability to establish rapport and excellent communication with members staff and volunteersOnly those individuals legally entitled to work in Canada will be considered for employment with the YMCA of Greater TorontoAbility to useâfrequent light to medium physical effort : lifting up to 20 kg (44 lbs.) bending and stoopingMust be able to work outdoors for at least 2 hours daily year-round; may be exposed to heat humidity or coldExcellent written communication skillsCommitment to working in a socially inclusive environment responding with sensitivity and personal awareness to the diverse needs of members including visible and non-visible dimensions of diversityAll staff working with children are required under the Childcare and Early Years Act to have a valid standard first aid certification including infant and child cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) prior to the first day of workFlexibility regarding assigned working hours and program sitesCommitment to diversity equity inclusion and building a sense of belongingWhat you need to succeed :
