Our client is a well-established roofing company based out of Kelowna, BC with an excellent reputation. Projects are complex and niche. Laing Roofing has almost 40 years of experience providing roofing and building envelope services in the Okanagan and beyond.
Due to steady growth and taking on larger, more complex projects, we are looking for a Project Manager to join their team. The Project Manager supports the successful delivery of commercial roofing and building‑envelope projects from contract award through close‑out. Reporting to the Senior Project Manager, this role works closely with Superintendents, Project Coordinators, Estimators, Safety, and Finance to ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, on budget, and to Laing’s quality standards.
This role is ideal for an experienced Project Manager who takes ownership, understands the technical and contractual complexities of roofing and envelope work, and can confidently support both field and office teams.
We are looking for someone who is a strong user of project management software, over and above using the Microsoft Office Suite to guide daily work. Examples of project management software experience could be Procore, Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC / Build), Buildertrend, Fieldwire, CMiC or similar platforms. Strong execution experience and document control using project management software is a requirement for this position.
This role will include a base salary, bonus, company truck, gas card, benefits and RRSP matching.
Responsibilities :
Project Coordination & Execution
- Support projects through pre‑construction, execution, and close‑out
- Attend project award, start‑up, coordination, and site meetings
- Review and administer contracts, scopes of work, shop drawings, SOVs, and project documentation
- Track progress, identify issues early, and support timely resolution
- Assist with project close‑out documentation and warranty requirements
Leadership & Team Support
Provide leadership, guidance, and day‑to‑day support to Superintendents, Project Coordinators, and field teamsSupport labour planning, sequencing, and coordination between office and site teamsFoster strong communication, accountability, and collaboration across all project stakeholdersParticipate in weekly planning, scheduling, and coordination meetingsPlanning & Scheduling
Develop and maintain detailed project schedules in collaboration with the Senior Project Manager and SuperintendentsUtilize Microsoft Project to manage and track project schedulesApply Lean Construction methodologies, including Takt Planning and Pull Planning, where appropriateCoordinate schedules with clients, consultants, vendors, and internal labour resourcesProactively manage schedule impacts, delays, and recovery planningContract, Change & Financial Management
Demonstrated working knowledge of CCDC contracts, including contract administration and complianceManage change orders, scope changes, and related cost and schedule impactsSupport financial controls, including job cost tracking, forecasting, and margin protectionReview vendor invoices and subcontractor billings for accuracy and scope alignmentAssist with monthly job cost reporting and budget‑to‑actual reviewsRisk, Safety & Quality
Identify, document, and monitor project risks using a risk registrySupport mitigation strategies throughout the project lifecycleCoordinate project safety planning with the Safety AdvisorAssist with tracking safety performance, corrective actions, and complianceEnsure work aligns with regulatory, safety, and quality standardsMaterials, Equipment & Procurement

Minimum 3+ years of project management experience in commercial constructionRoofing and / or building‑envelope experience is a strong assetProject management designation preferred (PMP, CAPM, CCE, PSP, or similar)Working knowledge of CCDC contracts, change management, and cost controlsExperience using and championing construction project management software, such as Procore, Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC / Build), Buildertrend, Fieldwire, CMiC or similar platformsStrong organizational, communication, and leadership skillsAbility to work collaboratively with field and office teamsA mindset that aligns with Laing’s values — you own your work, follow through, and take pride in qualityScheduling experience using Microsoft Project and Lean planning methodologies
