Compensation & Work Conditions
- Annual Salary (full-time equivalent) : $120,000 CAD
- Contract Duration : 6-12 months, with the possibility of extension
- Schedule : Monday to Friday, 8 : 00 AM - 5 : 00 PM (40 hours per week)
- Vacation : 4% vacation pay added to each pay period

Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Mechanical & Electrical (MEP) Specialist to lead and coordinate all on-site mechanical and electrical activities for complex industrial projects in St. Thomas, Ontario. The ideal candidate brings strong technical depth in MEP systems, hands-on project coordination experience, and a proven ability to maintain schedule, quality, and cost performance in highly regulated environments.
Key Responsibilities
On-Site Leadership : Plan, direct, and manage all on-site mechanical and electrical activities, ensuring full compliance with project specifications, regulatory standards, and safety requirements.Technical Coordination : Review construction drawings, specifications, documentation, and BIM models to identify and resolve conflicts between architectural / structural elements and MEP systems, preventing rework and delays.Documentation & Workflow : Coordinate and validate relevant drawings and documentation to streamline workflows and maintain project timelines for mechanical and electrical work.Stakeholder Collaboration : Collaborate with internal teams (design, project management, site supervision) and external stakeholders (consultants, trade contractors, vendors) to monitor schedules, manage RFIs, and oversee shop drawing approvals.Installation Oversight : Supervise on-site installation of mechanical and electrical systems, ensuring work quality, constructability, and adherence to deadlines and specifications.Cost & Resource Control : Track and control material and labour costs for MEP components, providing accurate, timely reporting to project management.Procurement Support : Support resource planning and procurement of materials and equipment, ensuring timely delivery, correct specifications, and cost efficiency.Risk Management : Identify project risks related to MEP scope and implement corrective actions to mitigate schedule slippage, quality issues, and budget overruns.Testing & Commissioning : Provide technical guidance during system testing, commissioning, and verification to ensure optimal performance, safety, and functionality.Closeout & Handover : Lead project closeout activities for MEP systems, including inspections, deficiency resolution, documentation, and handover to stakeholders.Reporting : Prepare and submit detailed project reports, including progress updates, inspection records, test reports, and compliance documentation.Additional Duties : Perform other related tasks as required to support successful project completion.Qualifications
Education :Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or another construction-related field, or an equivalent combination of technical training and industry certifications.
Professional Designation :P.Eng. or P.E. designation is preferred .
Experience :5+ years of experience managing complex projects in Clean and Dry Rooms , Automotive , or Pharmaceutical environments.
Well-versed in all aspects of project management, including scope development, specification creation, tendering, contractor management, quality assurance, and project closeout.Experience working within large, complex project teams and actively participating in project and coordination meetings.Demonstrated experience on Design-Build projects.Other Requirements :Strong knowledge of relevant Ontario building codes, safety regulations, and industry standards for mechanical and electrical systems.
Excellent communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.Proficient with construction documentation, BIM models, and common project management tools.Must be legally entitled to work in Canada .
