Administrator, Accounts Payable

Temporary contract role with one of Vancouver’s most beloved companies. Contract running to end of March with chance for extension. Candidates who are in Vancouver on an open work visa will get consideration. Hybrid work schedule (3 days / week in office), based in downtown Vancouver.

Our client has a 30+ year history and in that time has grown to become the global leader in their niche industry. The company’s brand is very well-established and reputable and attracts customers from all over the world. The company has strategic growth plans in place over the near 6 years. Headquartered in Vancouver, BC.

What- the Role :

Our client has asked SWIM to find a great contractor to join their busy Accounts Payable team. This contract starts ASAP and will run until end of March 2025. The role will mostly involve AP data entry and data validation into Coupa (procure-to-pay system). The Accounts Payable contractor will be calling vendors and partners to gather their banking / AP information and to later confirm the information. SWIM will provide interested candidates with a thorough job description.

Who- the Candidate :

• We are seeking someone with clerical accounting or accounts payable experience and / or with post-secondary education in accounting.
• Candidates must be numerically savvy, very accurate with data entry , and organized.
• Excellent computer skills are crucial, and the ability to quickly learn Coupa (prior exposure to Coupa is of course a big plus!).
• Communication skills are very important as the AP contractor will be interacting daily with vendors and partners over phone and email.
• Qualified candidates will be bright, adaptable, efficient, and collaborative team players who are eager to learn.

How Much :

Hourly contracting rate commensurate with experience, likely in the range of $20 to $25 an hour, plus 4% vacation pay. On a permanent basis this role would pay around $50,000 to $56,000. Please discuss your compensation expectations in more detail with SWIM.

Where :

HYBRID . The company is headquartered in downtown Vancouver. Training and onboarding will be full time in office and starts on December 9th. After that, the AP contractor can work 3 days / week in office (usually Tues / Wed / Thurs) and 2 days / week at home, if they prefer.
