The Role
We are seeking a Hardware Test Engineer on a contract basis to support the design and implementation of test systems for our medical device platform. This is a project-based engagement focused on establishing structured and repeatable hardware testing processes. The role is hands-on and requires onsite work in Kitchener, Ontario.
The Hardware Test Engineer will contribute to the development of in-house test environments, assist with building and refining test setups, and support the implementation of reliable testing methodologies. The ideal candidate has 3+ years of experience implementing hardware testing processes. Experience working within ISO regulated quality management systems 9001 and or 13485 is considered an asset.
What You’ll Do
- Own the design of all test setups for in-house and manufacturing testing and drive the test environment towards full automation
- Guide the DFT requirements for all of our products
- Lead the design requirements for functional and ICT PCB testing and final product test harness
- Participate in design reviews for all active designs to ensure test requirements have been met
- Design test plans and test cases to validate new products and improve existing products
Who You Are
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or another technical disciplineHardware design experience (schematic and layout)Embedded software development with proficiency in C and C++Experience with one or more CAD tools (Altium, Eagle, Allegro, KiCad, Upverter, etc.)Comfortable in a lab environment and experience using standard tools such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, multimeters, VNA’s, etc.Working knowledge of Python scripting in a test environmentAbility to troubleshoot hardware issuesProven verbal and written communication skillsAbility to drive design decisions and implement well-documented processesArray
