Our client, a mid-sized manufacturing company, is seeking a new team member to join following an internal promotion. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing general accounting for the Canadian and U.S. entities, with the support of an intermediate accountant who will report directly to him.

Responsibilities
Account Reconciliation : Perform monthly and annual account reconciliations, including reviewing balance sheet schedules and managing multiple intercompany accounts.Period-End Closing : Oversee the period-end process, including reviewing journal entries, bank reconciliations, rebate calculations, and other necessary tasks.General Ledger Integrity : Ensure the integrity of the General Ledger (GL), identifying and addressing any discrepancies.Financial Statement Preparation : Prepare and review financial statements, including analysis of margins, SG&A, foreign exchange impacts, and other relevant areas.Financial Analysis : Conduct thorough analysis of financial results, comparing actual performance to budget, monthly, quarterly, YTD, and YOY. Identify trends and recommend actionable insights to management.Report Writing : Develop and modify financial statement reports using available software toolsStatutory Reporting : Manage various statutory reporting requirements, ensuring compliance with regulations.Audit & Review Engagements : Play a key role in year-end audit and review engagements, supporting auditors and ensuring smooth processes.Cash Flow Planning : Participate in cash flow forecasting and planning, including managing multiple currencies (CAD, USD, EUR, RMB), and prepare weekly cash flow forecasts for bi-weekly bank loan issuance.Bank Margining & Covenants : Prepare bank margin calculations and monitor compliance with bank covenants.Team Development : Mentor and train the Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) teams, providing feedback, and supporting their development of objectives and plans.Internal Controls & Policies : Contribute to the development and maintenance of internal controls and policies to ensure compliance with legislation and industry best practices.Ad Hoc Reporting : Support the finance team with other reporting and ad hoc requests as required.Qualifications
BBA degree in AccountingCPA certification (an asset)Expertise in managing complex multi-entity and multi-currency environments, including handling intercompany transactionsExcellent interpersonal skills and analytical thinkingLegally entitled to work in CanadaSummary
