Why this role :

We’re looking for an intermediate-level HR generalist to join a fairly new team supporting two growing business units.

In this role, you’ll be be responsible for day-to-day coordination work and the change to contribute to strategic HR projects.

As a member of the Exan HR Team, you’ll primarily support two business units within the larger Henry Schein One : Canadian Commercial and Global Academic.

This is a hybrid role, with two days in office , to facilitate brainstorming and team building. Our office is located across from Guildford Mall, in Surrey, BC.

What you’ll do

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records and HR databases.
  • Support with HR coordination including : benefits, onboarding, and offboarding efforts
  • Support employee relations by addressing inquiries and resolving issues in a timely, empathetic and effective manner.
  • In collaboration with the Head of Human Resources, participate in the development, implementation and delivery of HR projects.
  • Contribute to and positively impact our culture; contributed a thoughtful and inclusive lens to how we create programs and engage with people
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records and HR databases.
  • Support with HR coordination, onboarding and offboarding efforts

What we’re looking for :

  • 3+ years’ progressive broad human resources experience
  • Bachelor’s degree specializing in Human Resources Management, or equivalent understanding of a broad set of HR fundamentals
  • T-Shaped individual you mix a generalist skillset with a few areas of deeper interest and exposure
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a track record of developing trusting relationships with team members at all levels of the organization
  • Ability to handle strictly confidential information
  • Sense of urgency, balanced by a pragmatic approach to prioritization
  • Excellent attention to details & organizational skills
  • Able to work independently with good instincts on when to ask for support.

Compensation & Benefits

The posted range for this position is between $75,000 CAD - $85,000 CAD which is the expected starting base salary range for an employee who is new to the role to fully proficient and experienced in the role.

Many factors go into determining employee pay within the posted range including prior experience, training, current skills, certifications & education etc.
