Job description

Senior Project Manager - Mechanical Contracting

A Durham Region-based mechanical contractor is currently looking to add a Senior Project Manager with knowledge of Sheet Metal or Piping and Sheet Metal project experience. This group focuses on design / build, bid / spec, and P3 projects. You will have the opportunity to lead a diverse team in a team-based environment and oversee some of our more complex projects across the GTA.

Desired Skills & Experience :

  • Mechanical Engineering / Construction degree or equivalent technical training / related experience.
  • Minimum of 7+ years’ experience in a progressive coordinator / project management role.
  • Proven success in projects with strong knowledge of construction laws and building codes.
  • Strong project management skills, including organization, documentation, and experience with technology-based environments.
  • Self-directed, proactive, with a client relationship focus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in project management software, Microsoft Office, and in-house systems.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Oversee the entire construction project, ensuring compliance with design specifications, plans, and schedules.
  • Manage project components such as performance, schedules, budget, labor, equipment, materials, and safety.
  • Represent and liaise with clients, owners, consultants, contractors, and team members.
  • Analyze and interpret documentation, drawings, specifications, and client meetings.
  • Manage billing processes and contract changes.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and performance management to a diverse team, while promoting corporate policies and innovation.
