What is the opportunity?

The RBC Dominion Securities branch in Vancouver, BC, is currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Associate Portfolio Manager who excels in crafting tailored investment strategies for our HNW / UHNW clientele. As an integral part of our esteemed team, the Associate Portfolio Manager will collaborate closely with Senior Portfolio Managers to deliver personalized investment solutions that meet the unique needs of our clients.

What will you do?

  • As Associate Portfolio Manager, you will work with the Senior Portfolio Manager to proactively manage a substantial portfolio of over one billion dollar across various asset classes including, money market securities, stocks, bonds and alternative investments
  • Implement investment policy decisions, monitor asset mixes, rebalance portfolios, and risk management
  • Assist with day-to-day portfolio review, asset allocation rebalancing and executing and monitoring trades as directed by the Portfolio Manager
  • Prepare and deliver market commentaries
  • Prepare portfolio performance reviews and compare against benchmarks
  • Conduct research analysis
  • You will also proactively participate in regional / national projects that seek to improve upon investment solutions

What do you need to succeed?

Must Have

  • University Degree in business or related field
  • Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation
  • Excellent understanding of investment industry and financial products (Equities, fixed Income, options, alternative investments (Private Equity / Private Credit etc.)
  • Strong Microsoft Office Suite skills
  • Meticulous attention to detail and excellent time management skills
  • Ability to understand and interpret investment solutions, the markets, the economy and communicate to various audiences
  • Good knowledge of business trends and sales methodologies in the wealth management industry.
  • Minimum 3 years portfolio management experience
  • Minimum 5 years investment industry experience
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication in English
  • Nice to Have

  • Knowledge of RBC Dominion Securities' systems and procedures
  • CFP Designation (Certified Financial Planner)
  • Marketing / Sales Background
  • Demonstrated presentation skills

  • The expected base salary range for this particular position is $38,000 - $55,000 depending on your experience, skills, and registration status, market conditions and business needs.
