Job Summary :
The successful Electrical Estimator candidate will be responsible for producing accurate and timely estimates for potential projects. They will be responsible for obtaining specific and detailed information from Tenders, to accurately complete a comprehensive and competitive bid.
Responsibilities :
- Provide thorough takeoffs that accurately reflect all costs, using estimating software.
- Preparing tenders by quantifying, organizing, and tabulating all material, labour, and subcontract costs needed to complete the project.
- Participating in tender review, tender hand-off with Project Manager and Purchasing when and where required
- Provide comprehensive updates to management, including possibility of winning the bid, changes that need to be made, and any possible risks
- Attend site visits as required to gain knowledge and information for quoting purposes
- Track all bids and proposals in excel and submit to Project Manager for entry
- Identify opportunities to reduce costs throughout the bid process
- Identify new opportunities through both new and existing customers
Experience / Requirements :
Ability to understand all types of drawings and technical specifications.Strong knowledge of the Ontario Electrical Code and Canadian Electrical CodeThorough working knowledge of the electrical construction industryA minimum of five (5) years’ experience in estimating electrical ICI construction workAdvanced user of MS Office and AccubidExcellent communication skillsSelf-motivated and able to work under strict deadlinesOutstanding organization and time managementStrong background in Power Distribution, EV, and InfrastructureWhat is in it For You?
