Senior Analyst, Mechanical Engineer

The Engineering team discovers, develops and evaluates new product ideas, enhancements, or strategic product extensions, and translates research discoveries into usable and marketable products. Leads, plans and tracks all phases of the product life cycle, from inception to introduction into the marketplace. Coordinates with various functions to ensure successful product development and implementation.

This role in summary

Whirlpool is looking for an experienced Mechanical Engineer / Project Manager with a strong background in project management to support our manufacturing operations. As part of the Clyde Manufacturing Engineering Team, the successful candidate will work closely with NAR and support Clyde and Fall River manufacturing locations, E&T, Advanced Manufacturing and our new product organization to define, coordinate and manage the acquisition of the necessary capital equipment to successfully manufacture and deliver winning new products to the marketplace. This will cover coveted brands such as Whirlpool, Amana, Estate, KitchenAid, and Maytag. The successful candidate will be at the forefront of developing new laundry products by providing manufacturing early design consultation services, while determining the anticipated impact to the existing manufacturing footprint, including establishing the early capital budget estimates. The role will also be accountable to achieving the P4G and RTB goals established annually.

Your responsibilities will include

• Accountable to acquire and manage the associated capital equipment for new products from conception through to formal production handoff at the selected manufacturing location of choice.
• Accountable for supporting new product integration by providing manufacturing expertise to each of the key functions.
• Work closely with primary NAR Clyde, and Fall River manufacturing location to define capital purchases.
• Specify through implementation and handoff of new equipment to manufacturing operations.
• Improve speed in which we deliver winning products to the marketplace.
• Ensure that new manufacturing processes are flexible in design to accommodate long range new product cadence plans with the intent of minimizing future capital requirements.
• Work closely with the Advanced Manufacturing Group to ensure that new processes are in compliance with the established Global Bill of Processes.
• Lead projects and special assignments as required.
• Support WCM methodologies with the Integration of new equipment / process
• Support manufacturing by ensuring proper design for cost and maintainability
• Assume various Project Management roles on projects as assigned or required
• Bachelor's Degree in an engineering discipline
• 5+ years of manufacturing engineering experience
• Experience in project management
