Our team in Canada is growing; we are currently recruiting for an Electrical Designer to join the team at our Burlington Office.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for drafting and 3D modelling electrical systems for mining and industrial projects
• Develop models, design and drafting using advanced modeling and assembly practices within a 3D and 2D Electrical environment
• Ability to work as part of a team, applying skills to both new construction and renovation projects for drafting of power distribution, lighting and communication systems
• Provide CAD drafting services to design team
• Work under the direction of Electrical Engineers to develop working drawings from conceptual layout to detailed construction document packages for submission
• Ability to create electrical design of single line diagrams, motor schematics and wiring, General Arrangement, distribution panels, grounding, lighting, and cable tray
• Ability to create and maintain cable schedules and material take offs
• Apply, maintain and enforce CAD standards
• Ensure proper documentation of all work, products, and relevant activities
• Provide on-site construction supports as required

Qualifications

• Diploma in Electrical Engineering Design and Drafting Technology from a recognized college
• 10 years’ experience of drafting electrical, controls and instrumentation deliverables in an engineering environment
• Experience working within an EPCM environment is preferred
• Experience with SmartPlant is preferred
• Able to work within defined schedules and deadlines
• Able to function well, either as part of a team or independently
• Strong communication, analytical and time management skills
• Well-developed written and oral communication skills
