Futurpreneur is a national non-profit organization that empowers young, diverse entrepreneurs, ages18-39 to start, buy or grow their businesses in Canada, by providing loans with mentorship and resources.
Founded in 1996, we have helped more than 18,700 young entrepreneurs, promoting entrepreneurship among Canadian youth as a critical pillar for diversifying the economy, generating employment opportunities, and fostering a sustainable future.

Here’s the opportunity : Bilingual Community Engagement Specialist
As the bilingual Community Engagement Specialist, you will play a key role in developing and executing Futurpreneur’ s community engagement strategies. Your work will foster active participation, positive interactions, and meaningful connections among our diverse community of young entrepreneurs, mentors and partners.
Reporting to the Senior Director, Community Engagement, the incumbent will be involved in supporting the launch and execution of a new community experience to enhance our existing suite of activities, workshops, and networking events. Your passion for digital engagement and community development will help create an inclusive and thriving ecosystem where diverse young entrepreneurs and mentors thrive, connect and contribute to inclusive economic prosperity.
This is a permanent full-time position, that can be located anywhere in Canada but preferably in our Toronto or Montreal office, operating under a hybrid work model (minimum 2 days in the office per week).
What you will do :
Community Platform Management and Engagement – 50%
- Assist in launching and maintaining an active online community platform, that encourages networking, knowledge sharing, and engagement among Futurpreneur-supported entrepreneurs, mentors and partners
- Actively engage with community members on various channels, curating content that reflects specific interests and sectors to maintain a welcoming and inclusive environment
- Contribute to the development and enforcement of community guidelines and policies that create a safe, respectful space for all members
- Facilitate mentorship connections and support community programming to help entrepreneurs achieve their goals
- Collaborate with the Marketing & Communications, Partnerships, Programs, Client & Mentoring Experience, tailored programs and regional teams to increase community visibility and support young entrepreneurs and mentors engagement
In-Person and Online Engagement Strategy – 25%
Plan and coordinate in-person and online events, including networking opportunities, workshops, and social gatherings that complement our online engagements and enhance community buildingCreate and maintain a calendar of activities that fosters consistent member participation and engagement, ensuring a supportive and lively community experienceContent Development and Strategic Communication – 20%
Collaborate with the Marketing & Communications and Programs teams to develop and curate bilingual resources that are culturally relevant and resonate with our diverse community of young entrepreneurs and mentorsWork with guest speakers and subject matter experts to facilitate webinars and interactive sessions that enriches the community's learning experienceTrack online conversations, posts and reviews, in collaboration with the Content & Communications team, to proactively address concerns, highlight successes, and ensure members are informed about Futurpreneur’ s offeringsTraining and Continuous Improvement – 5%
Provide orientation and ongoing support to community members, helping them maximize engagement with platform resourcesUse analytics tools to monitor community activity, engagement levels, and overall health, reporting insights and trends to key stakeholdersOffer suggestions for community management best practices, drawing from data and emerging trends to continually enhance the member experienceWhat you will have :
Relevant experience may include education with a focus in Communications, Public relations or Marketing or equivalent hands-on career experienceA minimum of 3-5 years experience in community management or digital engagement roles, preferably within a non-profit or entrepreneurial support environmentBilingual proficiency in English and French with exceptional written and verbal communication skills You will be required to work daily with non-bilingual team members and / or clients across Canada and at head office in Toronto.Demonstrated experience in launching and growing online communities and organizing community-centric eventsStrong understanding of content management, digital marketing strategies, and community building best practicesExperience in event planning and organizationStrong project management, leadership, and strategic planning skillsExperience in analytics, reporting, and integrating community feedback for data-driven decision-makingProficiency in using community management tools and digital engagement platforms (e.g. social media management tools, online communities' platform)Strong knowledge of business support processes and tools (e.g., Microsoft Office suite, CRM systems)Alignment with Futurpreneur’s values and commitment to the mission / purpose of the organizationBe a role model for Futurpreneur’s organizational culture by creating a positive impact at every touchpoint with people
