Verafin - Product Manager
Verafin is an industry leader in Financial Crime Management, providing a cloud-based, secure software platform for Fraud Detection and Management, BSA / AML Compliance and Management, High-Risk Customer Management, and Information Sharing.

As a product manager you will be responsible for owning discovery, and delivery of value to Verafin's customers through product changes.
You do this by engaging in discovery calls with customers and prospects to dig in, peel the onion and gain a true understanding of the underlying problems experienced so that we can improve the product with solutions.
The problems you undercover and gain a firm understanding of will be documented in a product backlog, which you will adjust accordingly as you learn more valuable problems to solve.
You act as the liaison between the customer and the development team, consistently bringing valuable problems into development days when required.
You will become the expert in the part of the product you are responsible for and will coordinate with other teams like Adoption, Sales, CSM and P-Writers.
Role Responsibilities
- Manage a product backlog specific to a part of the application you are responsible for by conducting consistent discovery calls with customers and prospects
- Work closely with members of the Problem Triage team to understand new emerging problems from the collection of feedback and ideas
- Participate in demos for sales prospects
- Attend the corresponding development days for your part of the application
- Coordinate with the Adoption Team as valuable new features become available for customers
- Coordinate with P-Writers who are working on Marketing Requirements Documents (MRDs) to detail new product features
- Monitor all regulatory changes and adjust your backlog based on things that are required for regulations
Essential Skills & Qualifications
- 3+ years as a product manager or product owner
- Bachelor of Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Coursework in Product Management or a combination of relevant education and work experience will be considered
- Curiosity, empathy, and a passion for talking to our customers and internal teams, helping to 'peel the onion' to uncover problems they may be having
- Experience launching a product and owning the process from beginning to end
- Ability to interface with multiple levels within a customer's organization (c-suite, decision makers, users)
- An understanding of the banking compliance industry would be considered an asset
- Previous Product Management or academic experience in Product Management would be considered an asset
What does success look like in this role?
- You have consistent customer calls where you can dig in and get to the root of the problem, then present that back to the development team
- You are organized and driven, and the ability to multi-task and prioritize efficiently
- You have the ability to figure out solutions to hard problems, work cross-functionally with other teams, and communicate effectively with various stakeholders
- You are responsible for the creation, shipping, and value of the product. You are the owner of this end-to-end process
