Project Accountant
Primary Function
Reporting to the Finance Manager - West, the Project Accountant is responsible for analyzing business unit or project financial activities and results, and supervision as required of Finance Team members
Remuneration
80,000 to $95,000 depending upon experience
Responsibilities
- Knowledge and understanding of sales agreements and contracts
- Ensure jobs are properly set up, maintained, and closed upon completion
- Signing off on job set-ups, budgets, rate tables, change management documents and job closes
- Client cost reporting
- Month end review, adjustments, accruals and revenue recognition
- Maintaining work files
- Setting up and maintaining Job Rate Table(s)
- Ad hoc reporting requirements as necessary
- Support OC Manager, Project Manager, and Sr. Project Accountant as required
- Analyzing Over / Under and SG&A accounts
- Analyzing job margins
- Variance reporting
- Providing cost analysis and reports to measure actual to planned job progress for forecasting
- Provide accounting support
- Other duties as required
Education / Training Requirements
5-7 years relevant work experiencePost-secondary diploma or certification from accredited college or technical / business school.CPA designation preferredProven proficiency within an accounting or finance function within an industrial contracting companyProfessional accounting experience including job costing, financial analysis and financial reportingPrevious experience with construction, and / or manufacturing industries would be a definite asset.Previous experience preparing financial statements would be an asset.
