Lead Solution Architect - RBC Insurance

WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?

The RBC Insurance Team is currently undertaking a multiyear journey of modernization and transformation of the core Insurance applications. As part of this transformation there will be multiple initiatives working with leading edge technologies, RBC Enterprise groups and other parts of RBC. In this role you will be responsible for planning, architecting and designing the future state application and solution landscape for RBC Insurance and leading teams to move from current to new future state. The role will develop, work with the multi-disciplinary Insurance Architecture team, communicate and execute activities to ensure objectives are accomplished according on time.

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

  • Collaborate with Business Partners and the Architecture team to work on initiatives of varying complexity to contribute to and define the overall Insurance Platform Architecture
  • Work with leading edge technologies and project initiatives to enable RBCI's IT strategy & vision
  • Continuously identify potential issues, conflicts, and risks. Analyze, mitigate and escalate where appropriate
  • Collaborate and contribute on cross-functional Insurance and enterprise initiatives and manage the effective implementation of assigned deliverables.
  • Establish strong working relationships across business units and platforms to build influence and impact with key business partners. Collaborate and coordinate with groups to define and achieve deliverables and ensure initiatives are effectively integrated into RBC procedures and processes.

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED?

Must have :

  • Experience developing large complex solutions while working with and managing key senior Leaders, stakeholders and Implementation teams to deliver said solution. This includes experience with change management experience in complex programs with high frequency of requests and multiple priorities.
  • Demonstrated ability in written and oral communication skills along with strong presentation skills. Ability to determine the information and communication needs of the stakeholders and project at multiple levels within the organization.
  • Strong organizational, project management and time management capabilities. Must be able to handle ambiguity.
  • A strong understanding of one or more of the following technologies : Cloud technology (AWS / Azure), Integration approaches (API - APIGee / Micro Services), Event Driven Architecture (Kafka) data practices, Cloud data platforms (Snowflake, etc.) and / or financial services industry.
  • Deadline-driven and results-oriented; able to meet consistently high quality standards while handling a variety of tasks and deadlines simultaneously.

    • Nice-to-have :

  • Experience working in an Agile organization.
  • Ability to facilitate between and influence key decision makers
  • Strategic thinker with excellent interpersonal skills to work across functions and businesses
  • Experience in Marketing Technologies, Salesforce or overall Digital Solution, Transformations, as well as a strong familiarity of GenAI and ML Ops
