Engineering Director, (does not manage a team) + responsible for the organization, coordination, and control of all phases of assigned projects, ensuring compliance with applicable airworthiness standards such as DO-160 and DO-178C, for the development of certified aircraft systems involving both hardware and software.
As a Project Engineer your key responsibilities include :
- Prepare Engineering Estimates and Engineering Development Plans
- Execute Engineering Development Plans while proactively identifying and mitigating risks impacting schedule, cost, or deliverables
- Lead engineering project teams to respect budget, schedule, and ensure quality deliveries
- Identify user stories and detailed tasks, assign priorities and tasks to project team members, and clearly communicate requirements and deadlines
- Work with other departments such as Program Management, Airworthiness, Quality, and Manufacturing to drive projects forward
- Produce and present status reports for management review
To join our team, you must :
- Knowledge of DO-178C and DO-254 quality standards
- Experience in avionics or military hardware and software development
- Availability to travel to CMC Electronics US locations once a month initially
To excel in this role, you must have :
- Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or Computer Science or equivalent;
- Possess at least 7 years’ experience as a hardware and / or software engineer in the avionics or military products environment;
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in project management, including technical risk oversight and managing teams of 10+ people, including remote teams
- Demonstrated success in the execution and leadership of complex technical projects requiring cost and schedule performance management and risk management
- Demonstrated understanding of requirements management for the development of hardware and / or software systems
