Job Description
We are currently seeking a full-time, temporary (6 months) Clinical Informatics Nurse. The Clinical Informatics Nurse (CIN) educates and supports physicians and interprofessional clinical staff in the adoption of CAMH’s electronic health record (I-CARE) and other IMG-supported clinical applications. Acting as a key liaison between IMG and CAMH interprofessional clinical staff, the CIN also collaborates with both internal (e.g. Professional Practice, EPMO) and external stakeholders (e.g. vendors, TAHSN hospitals) to support other relevant initiatives at CAMH.
Reporting to the Chief Clinical Informatics Officer, the Clinical Informatics Nurse is responsible for developing and maintaining education materials, delivering training and providing ongoing support for I-CARE and other IMG-supported clinical applications. Through participation on committees, working groups and project teams, the CIN collaborates with others to support projects, process improvement, and mandated initiatives, focusing on system optimization, uptake of best practices, and adoption of I CARE and IMG-supported clinical applications.
Key Accountabilities
- Provide I-CARE and IMG-supported application education for staff including physicians, new hires, residents, students and others
- Provide in-person, telephone, virtual and email supports to physicians, interprofessional clinicians and others in the use of I-CARE and IMG-supported applications
- Develop workplace supports for the use of I-CARE and IMG-supported applications, such as ‘quick reference cards’, ‘how to’ documents, and videos in alignment with organizational and practice needs
- Create e-learning tutorials and supports for I-CARE and IMG-supported applications
- Develop, maintain, and deliver in-person and virtual classroom curriculum
- Maintain content of training and support websites related to I-CARE education
- Perform administrative duties as they relate to training and education for the use of I-CARE and IMG supported applications. These duties may include but are not limited to emailing, coordinating, tracking attendance, conducting evaluations, reports, and follow up.
- Provide clinical needs, workflow analysis and design recommendations for various IMG projects
- Support the use of I-CARE and IMG-supported applications with interprofessional clinical staff through on-going communication (e.g. newsletter, updates), assessments, and ‘just in time’ support (e.g. in the clinic / on the unit)
- Provide support for special initiatives such as project implementations, system downtimes, external assessments / reviews (Accreditation), etc.
- Work collaboratively with professional practice staff to develop materials and provide training that incorporate both practice standards and functionality as it relates to the use of I-CARE and IMG-supported applications

Minimum Requirements
Registered Nurse with good standing with the College of Nurses of OntarioBachelor’s degree in Nursing (e.g. BN, BScN, BNSc)Formal health or nursing informatics education is preferred (e.g. certificate, course, master’s degree etc.)Strong knowledge of Cerner Millennium is preferredRelevant clinical experience in mental health is preferredProven experience teaching and supporting clinicians in the use of electronic clinical applications coupled with effective leadership, decision-making, communication, organizational and problem solving skillsAbility to combine clinical experience, best practice and software knowledge to provide effective education, support and input on organizational initiativesStrong oral and written communication skills to develop and effectively deliver classroom, on-unit, one-to-one and web-based training for groups of various sizesStrong knowledge of CAMH clinical workflows, and / or mental health related workflowsHold a current BCLS (CPR)Ability to work with clients of diverse cultural and social backgroundsBilingualism (French / English) or proficiency in a second language is an asset
