We have an upcoming opening for the student / seasonal position of Utilities Assistant - Operations. The successful candidate is enrolled in or recently graduated from a post‑secondary program related to water quality or a related field, will have WHMIS certification and holds a valid Class 5 BC driver’s license. First Aid certification is considered an asset.
You have a mechanical aptitude, have basic knowledge of water treatment plants and water distribution systems, are physically capable of performing manual work in all kinds of terrain and weather and have the ability to work independently with limited supervision.
Reporting to the Lead Water Supply & Treatment Operator, the Utilities Assistant - Operations assists Water Operators and performs operating, monitoring and maintenance support related to the water supply and treatment facilities and water distribution infrastructure.
This is a full‑time position (40 hours / week) from approximately May 4, 2026 until August 28, 2026 with a wage of $23.24 per hour plus 16% in lieu of vacation, statutory holidays and all other benefits for an aggregate total of $26.96 per hour.
