Job description
HireArt is helping an on-demand, autonomous ride-hailing company hire an engineering-focused Vehicle Technician to support the readiness of its fleet vehicles.
In this role, you will perform maintenance, repairs, and fleet reworks and contribute towards the operations of our workshop. This will include scheduled / preventative maintenance and services, diagnostics, repair coordination, and general upkeep of vehicles.
We're looking for someone with extensive knowledge of the maintenance and repair of vehicles. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of prior technician experience.
Available Shifts :
8 : 00 AM – 5 : 00 PM : Friday - Tuesday
3 : 00 PM – 11 : 00 PM : Friday - Tuesday
As a Vehicle Technician, you'll :
- Configure, set up, maintain, diagnose, and sign off on vehicles for safe on-road usage.
- Travel locally as needed to support vehicle setup, diagnostics, and maintenance work.
- Sync with the shop foreman to ensure all vehicles are in a “ready” state for demonstrations and testing.
- Perform diagnostics and escalate issues to the appropriate engineering team when required.
- Coordinate and drive the repair process from start to finish.
- Create diagnostic test plans as needed to support troubleshooting and validation.
- Maintain service records and produce quality field reports.
- Maintain shop facilities, ensuring tools are organized and the workspace is in excellent working condition.
- Assist with parts inventory, tracking, and organization.
- Deliver an excellent service experience for internal teams and business partners.
Requirements
2-4 years of technician experienceExtensive knowledge of methods, techniques, parts, tools, and materials used in the maintenance and repair of vehiclesValid driver's license with a clean driving recordAbility to pass a background check, MVR check, and drug screen in accordance with the company’s Substance Abuse PolicyAbility to multitask and manage multiple projects and deliverablesReliable self-starter with a "roll up the sleeves" work ethicAn outstanding communicator with excellent written and verbal skillsHonest, responsible, and a strong team playerAbility to lift up to 50 lbs and sit / stand for extended periods (8+ hours) depending on the equipment typeAbility to obtain and successfully pass company-provided forklift and / or gantry operator certification after hire, in compliance with Cal / OSHA standardsPreferred Qualifications :
Technical trade school certificate or associate degree in automotive repairExperience in an automotive-focused engineering or research lab (i.e., Dyno, Battery, etc.)Knowledge of CAN, wiring diagrams, and solderingExperience and ability to tow a car hauler and other large trailers to transport fleet vehiclesAbility to travel locally and nationally (on occasion)Benefits :
