Digital Content Publisher & Developer

Duration of Contract / Perm : 5 months (Aug 29- possible extension)

Hours : 40 hr / week

Start Date : ASAP

Location : Downtown, Toronto

Job Description : What You’ll Be Doing

As a Digital Content Publisher & Developer, you will manage all aspects of publishing and quality assurance activities for various digital properties. You will oversee and ensure that all marketing initiatives and content meet business and client requirements while adhering to established standards and compliance rules.

How You’ll Succeed

  • Content Publishing : Manage content intakes across all Wealth Management digital / web properties and collaborate with content strategy and UX team members on content for all digital properties on various CMS applications. Manage content and front-end development through the approval / governance pipeline, validate on staging environments, deploy to live production, and perform post-deploy verification. Work with vendors to diagnose and troubleshoot back-end issues. Collaborate with the program manager, IT, and QA departments for successful deployment and testing of new code. Validate and diagnose API functionality and integration points to meet business and user requirements.
  • Development : Build / develop front-end components, optimize, QA, and launch websites and tools, including Investment Advisor Websites, following established development practices and coding standards, including AODA (and WCAG 2.1 AA) and SEO. Work on platform enhancements and optimization, ensuring cross-browser compatibility.
  • Operational Excellence : Identify root cause solutions and resolve production / development problems for digital application / site support. Open and manage support tickets with vendors, track and resolve issues, or propose in-house solutions. Think creatively within budget and scope. Collaborate with technology and vendor partners to troubleshoot and resolve platform and site issues. Ensure implementations meet programming standards and best practices, recommending optimal technical solutions. Research emerging technologies and services to enhance the digital experience and provide solutions for strategic initiatives.
  • Web Analytics : Extract and present web analytics data to inform decisions and actions.

Who You Are

  • You possess strong JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and PHP skills, with a strong understanding of UI / UX design and server-side response language (e.g., PHP). Experience with MySQL or other SQL database systems is required. Experience with Drupal is an asset.
  • You have strong attention to detail and the ability to accurately manage content and libraries, as well as identify and troubleshoot content or data issues on websites.
  • You are driven by collective success and understand the power of collaboration. You have experience presenting concepts, plans, and executed work in senior leadership meetings.
  • You demonstrate familiarity with open-source content management systems (Drupal, WordPress, AEM) and understand how to build and maintain SEO and responsive, accessible designs.
  • You have worked with JS libraries such as jQuery and Bootstrap and have knowledge of modern JavaScript frameworks (NodeJS, ReactJs, Angular). You have experience writing, testing, and debugging front-end code for multiple browsers and platforms (tablets, desktops, mobile).
  • You are familiar with web analytics and understand the value of data. You can extract and present web traffic data (Google Analytics / Adobe Analytics) for website continuous improvement.
