Certified Level 2 / 3 Wastewater Treatment Plant Lead Operator
Location : Rockyview County / Kananaskisk / Calgary Region, Alberta, Canada.
We are seeking an experienced operator to support the day‑to‑day operation and maintenance of our water and wastewater treatment plants and pumping stations. You will report to the Project Manager and work in a multidisciplinary team to deliver safe, efficient, and compliant water services to residents and clients.
Day‑to‑Day Responsibilities
- Consistently offer professional, engaging, and friendly service.
- Ensure all work is performed in a safe and efficient manner.
- Support staff with the maintenance and operation of treatment plants and pumping stations according to government standards.
- Operate and maintain filtering and chemical treatment processes.
- Maintain all related readings and documentation; keep a daily log of analytical parameters.
- Prepare work orders for servicing and repairs; manage scheduling and vacation relief.
- Manage purchasing of goods and equipment, and maintain inventory.
- Prepare reports for government agencies and other stakeholders.
- Comply with all safety and sanitation policies.
- Communicate effectively with personnel and supervisors.
- Assist with hiring, mentoring, and staff management.
- Collaborate with clients, vendors, and engineers; support SOPs and CMMS system.
- Training, mentoring, and support staff management.
Skills & Attributes Desired
Minimum Level 2 in Wastewater disciplines.Experience operating and maintaining water and wastewater treatment plants and related equipment.Flexible, dedicated public‑service mindset.Computer literate with Microsoft Word and Excel.Valid Alberta Driver’s License.Ready for on‑call services on a rotational schedule.Excellent oral and written communication skills.Physical requirements : walking, standing, bending, reaching, pushing, pulling 4‑6 hrs / day; driving 4‑6 hrs / day; computer work 1‑4 hrs / day; no lifting >50 lbs.
Ability to work indoors and outdoors in harsh weather conditions.Benefits
