We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Toddler Guide to join our team and foster a calm, respectful, and developmentally supportive classroom.
Role Summary
The Toddler Guide leads a thoughtfully prepared environment for children 19 months to 3 years old. This role involves presenting materials, observing developmental needs, supporting toileting independence, maintaining a peaceful classroom, and building trusting relationships with families. A strong candidate brings patience, consistency, and genuine respect for young children.
Responsibilities
- Lead a Montessori-inspired toddler classroom with warmth, structure, and intention
- Observe each child daily and tailor lessons to support emerging developmental skills
- Model and teach grace, courtesy, and independence
- Prepare, organize, and maintain the learning environment and materials
- Support toilet learning with respect, patience, and clear routines
- Communicate regularly with families and collaborate with staff
- Ensure a safe, inclusive, nurturing space where every child is seen and supported
- Participate in professional development and school community initiatives
Qualifications
Montessori Assistants to Infancy (0–3) certification or willingness to complete trainingExperience working with toddlers in a Montessori or early-learning settingStrong understanding of child developmentExcellent communication and observation skillsAbility to remain grounded, patient, and calm during transitions and challenging momentsCurrent First Aid / CPR and clear background checksPreferred Attributes
