Certified Utility Arborists (CUA) – British Columbia

Wright Canada Holdings Ltd, operating as Wright Tree Service of Canada, is seeking qualified CUAs for various positions in various locations within British Columbia. These are permanent, full-time positions with highly competitive hourly wages, benefit package, as well as an employee ownership plan.

Responsibilities Include :

  • Assign, instruct, and direct tree trimmers, equipment operators and groundworkers
  • Trim and / or removes trees by climbing with the aid of a ladder, safety belt, climbing line, powered trimmer lift truck, or work from the ground using saws / pruners
  • Removal or trimming of trees and brush encroaching onto utility or transportation rights of ways
  • Assume responsibility for the inspection and proper working conditions of tools, trucks, and other work equipment
  • Ensure on-the-job safety practices are followed by all crew members
  • Perform other job-related tasks as required or assigned

Requirements include :

  • Valid Certified Utility Arborist designation or ability to challenge BC skilled trades certification
  • Basic knowledge of trees, including identification, growth habits and correct arboriculture techniques for trimming, pruning, repairing, maintaining and removing
  • Adheres to safety requirements and ensures crew members are working safely
  • Ability to lift, move and maneuver up to 50 pounds on an infrequent basis and up to 30 pounds on a frequent basis
  • Ability to withstand exposure to all kinds of weather and environmental conditions
  • Valid drivers’ license
