Compensation: From $60,000 to $80,000 per annum plus benefits.

Regular Work Hours: 7.0 hours per day not including 1 hour lunch break, to be worked during regular business hours, Monday to Friday (35 work hours per week).
Work Location: Hybrid - combination of 2 days remote-based and 3 days onsite at client's North York office, with free parking provided. Work to be completed 100% onsite during probationary period. Onsite work expectations subject always to client business requirements, and may change according to client business need.
Responsibilities Summary: As an integral part of the commercial litigation team, will support the firm's lawyers in managing complex litigation files from inception to resolution.
- Draft, prepare, and file pleadings, motions, affidavits, facta, and other court documents in accordance with the Rules of Civil Procedure.
- Manage litigation files, including maintaining accurate records, deadlines, and limitation periods.
- Conduct legal research and prepare summaries as required.
- Liaise with clients, opposing counsel, court staff, and other stakeholders in a professional manner.
- Assist with trial preparation, including preparation of briefs, books of authorities, and exhibits.
- Coordinate examinations for discovery, mediations, hearings, and trials.
- Review and analyze documents, including contracts, financial records, and correspondence relevant to commercial disputes.
- Prepare and maintain document briefs, discovery summaries, and electronic databases.
- Monitor and update docketing and billing records.
- Additional law clerk responsibilities as required.
Qualifications: Education: Diploma from a recognized Ontario Law Clerk program.
Professional Credentials: The Institute of Law Clerks of Ontario (ILCO) Certification.
Preferred Work Experience: Minimum 3 years of law clerk experience supporting a commercial litigation practice.
Preferred Sector Experience: Law firm experience preferred.
Technical and Language Skills Requirements:
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (may be tested).
- Strong typing and attention to detail (may be tested).
- Proficiency with litigation support software (e.g., CaseLines, Relativity, or similar).
- Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal, including advanced level business writing skills, excellent spelling, grammar, proofreading and syntax, and polished, professional telephone manners.

- In-depth knowledge of the Ontario Rules of Civil Procedure and court practices.
- Strong drafting and document management skills.
- Strong oral and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally and diplomatically
