Position overview

Dr. Karim Zaghib is hiring a Research Associate for a full-time position. The ideal candidate will be expected to leverage their expertise in olivine and oxide cathodes for Li-ion and solid-state batteries, as well as intercalation and metals anodes for Li-ion batteries and solid-state batteries.

Responsibilities

Under the authority and supervision of the principal investigator, the incumbent may : Be responsible for conducting independent research, and other assigned research projects

Contribute to or be responsible for research funding applications to support his / her independent research project(s) and / or the entire research team projects.

Develop research protocols.

May be in charge of writing scientific papers or any other types of communication, such as artwork, performance, exhibition, composition, intervention related to the research project.

Manage laboratory (or other research space) and research personnel in addition to the incumbent’s research project duties.

Represent the principal investigatorIt may also be necessary, in some cases, to perform other related duties, including all those of a research assistant or senior research assistant. Qualifications PhD degree or equivalent terminal degree in the appropriate field.

Demonstrated interest in sustainable innovation in chemical and materials engineering fields.

Fluency in English, with practical knowledge of French (reading and evaluating French documents is necessary on a day-to-day basis).

Strong leadership, ability to solve conflictual situations between team members, rigor, creativity, analytical skills, autonomy, and capacity to meet tight deadlines, both in a team and independently.

Excellent communication abilities, detail-oriented with robust organizational skills.

Self-motivated, adaptable, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment. Testing required
