Loading Supervisor

Job Summary

The Loading Supervisor is responsible for leading the loading team, ensuring safe and efficient truck loading, assisting customers, and guiding shipping staff. This hands-on role requires learning and performing all loading tasks while enforcing company policies, procedures, and safety standards. The position also involves managing employee performance through task assignments, coaching, and disciplinary actions.

Responsabilities

• Enforce safety standards and ensure proper use of PPE.
• Train and support employees on all required tasks and procedures.
• Oversee loading operations to ensure trucks and customer vehicles are loaded safely and completely.
• Inspect work areas and equipment daily for safety and compliance.
• Coordinate priorities with the Logistics Coordinator and other supervisors.
• Notify the sales team of any product that did not make it on the truck.
• Handle employee issues (complaints, incidents, investigations) with HR support.
• Provide ongoing coaching and feedback to staff and document discussions.
• Maintain accurate paperwork (load manifests, inspections, vacation approvals).
• Operate material handling equipment and assist with loading / unloading as needed.
• Ensure cleanliness and organization of the loading area and yard.
• Monitor and approve vacation schedules to maintain coverage.
• Liaise with other departments and shifts to align on daily priorities.
• Assist with yard traffic control and customer vehicle loading when required.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support operations.

Saint-Gobain aims to deliver a comprehensive Total Rewards package to support our employees’ wellbeing and help improve daily life for themselves and their families. We believe in the importance of pay transparency in what we offer prospective candidates, the base pay range for this position is $71,999 to $74,777 per year. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for an annual bonus. The targeted bonus amount is 5% of base salary based on company and individual performance measures. Bonus payments are part of variable compensation and by nature can vary based on company and individual performance and is discretionary.
