Job description
HireArt is helping an on-demand, autonomous ride-hailing company hire an Associate Packaging Engineer to support packaging integrity, supplier communication, and daily problem-solving.
This is an entry-level packaging engineering role focused on root cause analysis, tracking progress on issues, and working directly with packaging suppliers to resolve problems quickly and accurately. You’ll support packaging compliance activities, audit inbound packaging, and help maintain documentation and packaging records.
As a Packaging Engineer, you’ll :
- Audit inbound component packaging and labeling for compliance with Pack Spec guidelines and supplier standards.
- Perform r oot cause analysis on packaging issues and document findings.
- Work directly with packaging suppliers to communicate issues, request corrections, and ensure problems are resolved.
- Use internal systems (PFEP, Shipping Label Tracker, Packaging Compliance Tracker, logistics KPIs) for analysis and reporting.
- Maintain and update packaging documentation, including database entries, drawings, data, and photographs.
- Track the progress of supplier corrective actions and packaging-related issues.
- Document packaging trials and evaluate warehouse or line-side feasibility as part of corrective actions.
- Support kitting, repackaging, and deviation requests.
- Investigate inbound packaging damage and propose corrective or preventive measures.
- Collaborate with packaging engineers on prototype reviews and sample assessments.
- Build and maintain strong communication with suppliers and cross-functional teams.
- Perform data analysis using Microsoft Excel and support reporting tasks
Requirements
Associate degree or higher in Packaging Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Logistics Engineering or similar, or 1+ years of relevant industry experience.Strong root cause analysis skills.Above-average communication skills, especially with suppliers.Data analysis skills.Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.Experience in logistics operations, supply chain, SAP, or automotive manufacturing environments.Knowledge of expendable / returnable packaging, shipping labeling requirements, lean principles, warehouse processes, and line-side operations.Ability to read CAD and technical drawings.Familiarity with automotive development, robotics, or warehouse automation.Nice to Have :
Experience with CAD or SAP.Automotive packaging experience.Experience with BarTender shipping / labeling software.Packaging Engineering degree (from programs such as Michigan State or Clemson).Background in Food Science or Medical Device industries (noted as successful intern backgrounds).Experience with Pack Spec portals or daily packaging documentation tools.Benefits :
