Job description

Heritage Christian Online School (HCOS) is a K-12 Provincial Online Learning School, providing fully accredited, Christian education to students in BC. As one of Western Canada’s largest online schools, we connect teachers with families and students to provide guidance and support via personalized, online, and face-to-face options.

HCOS has an opening for an  Inclusive Education Regional Administrator (IE RA) –Interior . This is a  full-time remote   permanent position at 40 hours per week. The primary role of the Inclusive Education Regional Administrator (IE RA) Interior is to assist the Director of IE with regional IE leadership and administrative tasks, including supporting IE Case Managers (CMs) / teachers and Learning Support Coaches (LSCs).

As the Inclusive Education Regional Administrator (IE RA) Interior, your duties and responsibilities will include :

  • Collaborate with other school administrators to promote mission, vision, values and school-wide goals in conjunction with the Directors of IE, planning and contributing towards the success of the division, including participation in the Regional Leadership Team (RLT)
  • Provide professional development for K-12 teachers and school administration on topics related to supporting students through Inclusive Education
  • Hire IE CMs / teachers and LSCs following the KCCS hiring process
  • Assign students to IE CMs / teachers and LSCs
  • Offer support, training, expertise, oversight, accountability, and leadership to IE CMs / teachers as they create and implement student programs, including student learning and individual education plans, report cards, and case notes
  • Offer support, training, expertise, oversight, accountability, and leadership to regional LSCs, including approving vacation, personal days and sick days, and staff evaluations
  • Work with the Registrar to interview prospective families and admit IE students
  • Collaborate with K-9 RAs on intake for students with learning needs
  • Foster and maintain positive relationships between parents, teachers, and education assistants within school-wide, regional, and IE departments
  • Support regional Learning Groups (LG) activities, including Community Connections (CCs) and CC+s
  • Lead regional Student at Risk Teams (SRTs)
  • Assist in coordinating category designation applications and reviews, and participate in the review process for categories A-R
  • Manage financial approvals related to IE student support plans and the overall regional budget(s) A-R and LS
  • Support IE CMs / teachers and LSCs in maintaining consistency and adhering to processes in collaboration with the IE and EA offices
  • Stay current through professional development opportunities

We are looking for someone with the following Qualifications & Skills :

  • Demonstrated commitment and lifestyle reflective of the KCCS Foundational Beliefs
  • Current BC Certified teacher with IE specialty and experience
  • Minimum of 1-year HCOS IE experience
  • Familiarity with HCOS IE systems
  • Knowledge of the BC Ministry’s Special Education Categories
  • Ability to manage change and adapt to varied workloads
  • Excellent conflict management, critical thinking, communication, and organizational skills
  • Proactive, systems thinking, relationship and solution-oriented
  • Technically proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace
  • Preference to those living in the region they are supporting
