Job Title : Identity Access Management Leader

Location : Edmonton, Alberta

Type : Permanent, Hybrid

The Position :

Our client is seeking a skilled and experienced Identity Access Management (IAM) Leader to join their team permanently. With your in-depth knowledge of IAM principles, technologies, and best practices, you will develop and update the organization’s IAM strategy, roadmap, and framework. You will implement and manage IAM tools and systems that encompass user identity management, access control, login security, and more! You will bring the ability to analyze complex systems and processes to identify potential security risks and compliance issues. Your strong problem-solving skills will be used to develop effective, efficient solutions to IAM challenges. You will also conduct assessments and regular evaluations of the IAM tools and processes, ensuring compliance with regulatory and industry standards.

As an excellent communicator with strong collaboration skills, you will work cross-functionally with IT, Security, and business teams, conveying complex IAM concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders

What You'll Do :

  • Develop and implement an IAM program, including policies and procedures. Oversee and regulate user access to systems, applications, and data.
  • Monitor compliance with policies, regulations, and customer requirements.
  • Conduct risk assessments and audits related to IAM.
  • Investigate incidents and propose corrective actions.
  • Educate users on policies and procedures to ensure understanding and compliance.
  • Stay informed about emerging threats, technologies, and solutions in the field.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure secure access to systems and data.
  • Address and resolve issues promptly and effectively, escalating as necessary.

Mandatories :

A minimum of 5 years’ experience in the IAM domain, with a proven track record of leading IAM projects and teams. A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field is strongly preferred. Alternatively, extensive proven track record in the position’s primary responsibility areas, preferably within Fintech will be considered.

Strong knowledge of IAM concepts, standards, and technologies, such as LDAP, SAML, OAuth, OpenID Connect, Kerberos, PKI, and IAM tools and platforms.

Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to balance security and business needs.

Ability to prioritize work in a multi-project environment and take ownership of issues and follow through to resolution.

One or more of the following active security certifications (or similar) would be highly desirable :

  • International Information System Security Certification Consortium (ISC2)
  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
  • Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA)
  • Certified Information Security Manager (CISM)
  • Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA)
  • Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC)
