Working closely with the VP Client Delivery & COO and TAI Chief Risk Officer, this individual will help develop and execute risk management strategies for the TAI business.

This individual has considerable technology and insurance / reinsurance experience across multiple disciplines, is a proven critical thinker, and can effectively implement and execute TAI’s risk management policies.

This individual with work with, and often lead, cross functional teams across TAI (legal, technology, corporate risk management, finance, client delivery, etc.

and will interact with the TAI SLT on a regular basis.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and oversee a robust and comprehensive Risk Management Program, including but not limited to operational, technical and geopolitical risks, including the development of policy, standards and processes to support the program.
  • Coordinate Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) practices across the TAI business, including regularly developing, refining, and monitoring controls across the organization.
  • Establish and monitor KRIs for the TAI business.
  • Coordinate with RGA Corporate and RGA Americas risk teams to ensure TAI compliance with RGA’s corporate risk framework.
  • Serve as Business Continuity Process (BCP) lead for the TAI organization.
  • Serve as site crisis leader for TAI’s Toronto office.
  • Participate in reviewing legal contracts from a risk perspective.
  • Participate and manage TAIS SOC 1 and SOC 2 audit processes in coordination with RGA’s corporate risk teams.
  • Coordinate with RGA’s Legal, Technology, and GSPO teams to address client risk concerns, surveys, questionnaires, etc.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE :

Required :

  • Bachelor’s degree technology, business, finance, economics or equivalent experience
  • 5-8+ years’ experience risk management in software development or life and health insurance and / or reinsurance industry

Preferred :

  • 10+ years’ risk management experience in software development of life and health insurance and / or reinsurance industry
  • CPA or MBA
  • FLMI

  • Highly advanced oral and written communication skills including presentation skills, demonstrating the ability to convey information in a way that is meaningful and well received by stakeholders and team members.
  • Expert ability to liaise with individuals across a wide variety of operational, functional and technical disciplines.
  • Expert ability to foster a teamwork and customer service focused environment.
  • Expert ability to work well within and manage a team.
  • The ability for moderate travel

Preferred :

  • Experience owning strategy and risk management for a software company.
  • Expertise managing international regulation and governance.
