Job description

Job Title : Intermediate / Senior Oracle Developer

Location : Toronto, Ontario (100% onsite work required)

The company has 40 people in it. Pension / Benefits company so any candidates with an insurance or financial services background would be a bonus

Candidate Responsibilities

  • Under the overall direction of the Manager of IT Operations, the Employee shall support the lifecycle maintenance and enhancements of the current Oracle E-Business suite (version 12.1.3) along with the development of new code for new initiatives as required.
  • The Employee shall assist the client ERP Development team with the following tasks.
  • This position will partner with functional teams to understand departmental expectations and requirements while also identifying and developing talent within the team to support business applications.

Design, build and maintain client's customization footprint that includes, custom workflows, notifications, alerts, Oracle Forms, Oracle Reports, SQL reports, integrations, Oracle AME, HRMS Fast formulas, OA Framework extensions, Oracle APEX, XML / BI Publisher, and Linux scripts

  • Support system, integration, and user acceptance testing providing bug fixes as required.
  • Provide documentation of design and program code for new or modified custom code.
  • Ensure deliverables are completed as per schedule.
  • Communicate issues as they arise to the Manager or IT Operations and assist in resolving them
  • Follow up and maintain status with Oracle Support requests (SRs)
  • Maintain strict adherence to our client's release management and production change control procedures and policy.
  • Ensure backups are completed successfully daily, weekly, and monthly.
  • Collaborate with functional stakeholders and departments to ensure successful support services and maintenance are provided for Cloud ERP solutions and supporting business applications.
  • Work with partner / vendor resources to help deliver managed services support.
  • Develop, document, maintain and ensure adherence to key processes.
  • Manage and report on internal Service Level Objectives and Disaster Recovery Plans and metrics.
  • Ensure security practices are adhered to and all changes are evaluated in collaboration with the Information Security practice.
  • Weekly status reporting, Presentations, First Contact of Escalations
  • First point of contact for Priority Service Disruptions
  • Identifies emerging issues and trends to inform decision-making.
  • Defines business requirements for analytics and reporting to ensure data insights inform business decision-making.
  • Breaks down strategic problems, and analyses data and information to provide insights and recommendations.
  • Completes root-cause analysis to determine underlying causes and participates in problem resolution for complex issues at all levels.
  • Builds exceptional relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Assess project impact, benefits, and risks when the scope changes.
  • Stays abreast of industry technical and business trends through benchmarking and / or participation in professional associations.
  • Implements changes in response to shifting trends.
  • 24x7 support will be required as needed

    • A minimum of 4+ years of experience in the following areas :

  • Working technical experience with designing, building, installing, configuring, and supporting Oracle Database features (Version 12C+).
  • Oracle APEX (Application Express) Version 20.1+ (You can move to Preferred) Same as Application Express description below (HTML, Javascript, and CSS experience would be also good since this Rapid Application System does a lot of behind-the-scenes HTML, Javascript, and CSS) but where required knowledge would be an asset.
  • Oracle PL / SQL
  • Oracle Database (triggers, packages, procedures, functions)
  • Oracle SQL
  • Plus

    • Preferred Qualifications

  • 2 - 5 years of experience in the following areas :
  • Experience working with TFS or GIT.
  • Experience with Linux Shell scripting
  • Oracle Analytics Publisher
  • JSON, XML, and Restful Services
  • Dev / Sec Ops and review
  • Management and Implementation of SSL Certificates (DigiCert)
  • Management of Cyber Security Products and User Security; i.e; Fortinet Sandbox Analyzer, Crowdstrike, Cisco AnyConnect, Azure, Email Security, Cisco Duo, Ybikey, MFA
  • Understanding of Networks and Firewalls
