Nurse Practitioner
Job Description
Provide primary health care services to the community, which includes health promotion and protection, disease and injury prevention, provision of supportive, instructive, treatment and emergency services.
Implement therapeutic interventions (including Pharmacotheraputics) for chronic, stable and common conditions. Utilize and synthesize from multiple sources appropriate health assessment and differential diagnosis of client / patient status.
Assess need for ordering and interpreting appropriate laboratory, radiology and ultrasound diagnostic tests. Work in conjunction with the client, family and health providers to develop and implement holistic treatment, interventions and support.
Be part of a diverse interdisciplinary team working in the Wakaw / Cudworth area. May work with teams at other Primary Health Centres.
Provide educational support for students including nursing, medicine and other disciplines. Will support and participate in multi-level chronic disease management strategies (individual, family and community).
Assist individuals, families and communities to increase knowledge, control and influence of health determinants in the maintenance and improvement of their health status.
Work with health care, community and inter-sectoral partners such as public health, Sask Learning, Department of Community Resources and Employment.
Support and assist in the development / implementation of quality initiatives to benefit service delivery models contribute to research activities.
Job Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing preferred
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Registered or eligible for registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Saskatchewan (CRNS) as an RN (NP)
- Valid Class 5 driver's license
Experience
Requires 3 years full-time experience as a Registered Nurse, with a minimum of one year nursing experience in a Primary Health Care setting preferred.
