Job description

Procurement Coordinator  (10 positions) for provincial government agency client, downtown Toronto.

Job Type : ​Temporary​.

Start Date : ​Initial term of February 10 2025 to August 8 2025, with possible extension.

Compensation : $30 ​per hour​.

Regular Work Hours : FULL TIME WORK HOURS – ​7.25​ work hours per day, not including 45 minute unpaid lunch break, to be worked during regular business hours (​36.25​ work hours per week).

Work Location : ​Hybrid – combination of remote and onsite work​ at Client's ​downtown Toronto​ office, near TTC station.

Responsibilities Summary :

Within a collaborative team environment, to provide procurement and contract coordination services in compliance with Ontario public sector procurement directives, supporting portfolio of designated second-stage procurement projects throughout all stages of procurement life cycle.

  • Coordinate and participate in client consultation and needs solicitation processes.
  • Support subsequent design and implementation of procurement projects, including development and dissemination of procurement materials to vendors and other pertinent stakeholders.
  • Liaise with clients and vendors throughout procurement process, addressing any issues and managing relationships to support successful completion of procurement life cycle.
  • Coordinate process of RFS, SOW and additional procurement or contract documents through procurement approval stages.
  • Additional procurement coordination and administration responsibilities as required.

Qualifications :

Education : Post Secondary Degree or Diploma in Business Administration, Public Administration, Supply Chain Management, Project Management or related field.

Work Experience :  Demonstrated progressive experience working within a procurement team. Public Sector, Broader Public Sector, or Board-governed organization procurement experience a strong asset.

Technical and Language Skills Requirements :

  • Strong command of Microsoft Office Suite (may be tested).
  • Exceptional verbal and written professional English communication, with the ability to effectively communicate on complex and / or sensitive topics with tact, professionalism and clarity.
  • Task - Based Qualifications and Additional Attributes :

  • Demonstrated understanding of procurement principles and best practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate a large and diverse portfolio of procurement projects, at various stages of completion.
  • Well-developed organization, concentration and task prioritization skills to effectively multitask, work under pressure and meet deadline and volume targets.
  • Exceptional tact and interpersonal skills, with a history of strong relationship management and working with external stakeholders.
  • Exceptional reading comprehension and attention to detail, including editing, proofreading, research and analytical skills.
  • A collaborative, team oriented approach to the workplace. Able to seek guidance when needed, take feedback, and follow directions, policies and outlined procedures accurately.
  • Proven ability to professionally handle confidential information and exercise good judgement in the interpretation and application of instructions and organizational policy.
  • Demonstrated ability to work well both independently and collaboratively, and in an advisory capacity, and liaise effectively with a wide and diverse range of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Additional Requirements :

  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada, providing satisfactory documentation upon request.
  • Ability to declare personal Non-Conflict of Interest in execution of assignment responsibilities prior to assignment start.
  • Provision of certification of AODA and OHSA online training course completion prior to assignment start.
  • Satisfactory Background Checks, Technical Skills Evaluations, and Employment References.
