Senior Quantity Surveyor

The Opportunity

As the Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will be working with senior executives both in-house and externally on many large scale multi-million, and even billion dollar, projects.

Position Description

Representing your client’s best interest your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Ensuring that all stakeholders are delivering on contractually agreements
• Overseeing all cost management activities representing clients best interests in terms of estimates, expenditures, etc.
• Pre, during and post construction costing/estimates.
• Participating in value management and value engineering techniques
• Managing entire life cycle costing processes
• Liaising with clients and all stakeholders throughout all stages of the project
• Bringing any discrepancies to the attention of the client, outlining risks and making recommendations
• Attending stakeholder meetings
• Compiling regular reports for clients

Experience

• Must have 8 + years of experience in cost estimating/consulting
• Must have experience working directly for a consultancy representing stakeholders best interests

Qualifications

• 8+ years’ experience in cost estimating/consulting
• 8+ years’ experience delivering pre-construction and post contract construction cost services
• Professional Quantity Surveyor (PQS) or working towards obtaining the PQS designation.
• Membership in good standing with the Canadian Institute of Quantity Surveyors (CIQS), The Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) or any other relevant professional organization
• Completion of a University degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction or other related field.
• Experience with large scale multi-million dollar projects
• Experience with civil works, railways, subway systems, metro systems, etc.

Education

• Completion of a University degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction or other related field.
• Membership in good standing with the Canadian Institute of Quantity Surveyors (CIQS), The Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) or any other relevant professional organization
• PQS designation or working towards PQS
