  • Conduct thorough financial analysis to provide insights into the company's performance and financial position.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies.
  • Liaise with external auditors and oversee the corporate annual audit.
  • Lead and mentor a team of 3-5 direct reports, across multiple companies.
  • Assess and optimize the structure and capabilities of the finance team.
  • Serve as the primary liaison with banking partners, addressing requirements and ensuring compliance.
  • Manage cash flow, FX strategies, and risk to support sustainable growth.

Strategic Planning & Execution :

  • Support acquisitions by providing financial due diligence and integration planning.
  • Operational Efficiency :

  • Analyze plant performance, inventory controls, and project billing to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional leaders to align financial operations with business objectives, develop reporting / analysis tools and explore process improvements.
  • Work closely with the owner to navigate investment-heavy and high-risk decisions, treating company resources with care and understanding entrepreneurial dynamics.
  • Maintain a calm, level-headed approach to challenges and opportunities.
  • Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; MBA or CPA preferred.
  • 10+ years of financial leadership experience, with a strong preference for candidates from manufacturing, construction, or similar industries.
  • Proven success in improving financial reporting processes and team effectiveness.
  • Experience managing US / CAD reporting, tax, and payroll requirements.
  • Strong knowledge of ERP systems and financial management software.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to confidently engage with senior leadership and external stakeholders.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset, capable of thriving in a fast-paced and risk-tolerant environment.
  • Calm under pressure, with a balanced and strategic approach to problem-solving.
  • What We Offer :

  • Competitive base salary of $200K-$250K CAD, plus performance-based bonus.
  • The opportunity to work directly with a forward-thinking owner and leadership team.
  • A challenging yet rewarding environment with significant growth potential.
  • The chance to influence and optimize financial operations across a diverse group of companies.
  • Why You’ll Love Working Here :

  • Dynamic and evolving challenges, every day brings new opportunities to learn and grow.
  • Direct access to decision-makers, enabling immediate impact and strategic influence.
  • A culture that values innovation, teamwork, and entrepreneurial thinking.
