About The Role

The Quality Control Technician is responsible for ensuring product quality through an extensive testing program and reporting process. You will build your skills from the ground up - learning about our business with hands‑on experience. You will spend approximately 80% of your time in the field (sampling & testing) and approximately 20% of your time in the office (inputting & analyzing data). This position will be for our Soil Recycling Facility located in Burnaby, BC.

What You’ll Accomplish

• Collect product samples based on production and shipping volumes; perform routine tests on all samples, with some lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Enter test results into Excel and the aggQC database, ensuring all data is submitted and distributed weekly.
• Communicate testing results to management and production staff to prevent the sale or production of out‑of‑spec materials.
• Conduct visual inspections of production and shipping piles to identify issues like oversize material or contamination.
• Assist customers and contractors on‑site by providing product information, samples, and occasional facility tours.
• Support tasks such as surveying, fill site coverage, barge sampling, and blast monitoring, depending on site needs.
• Record daily production data to maintain accurate inventory levels.
• Carry out general housekeeping duties, including garbage removal, to support a clean and safe work environment.
• Prepare monthly reports and summaries for quality assurance, sales staff, management, and external customers.
• Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.
