Assistant/Associate/Full Professor, Division of Pediatric Respirology

This tenure‑track position invites an academic pediatric respirologist to join the University of Alberta’s Department of Pediatrics, offering 65% clinical service and 35% academic pursuits in research, teaching, and administration.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive clinical respiratory services, including sleep medicine, home ventilation, complex asthma, bronchiectasis, cystic fibrosis, congenital and acquired lung diseases, and lung transplant support through multidisciplinary clinics.
• Teach and mentor learners at all levels in clinical and academic settings.
• Conduct impactful research in Pediatric Respirology and engage with the Women and Children’s Health Research Institute (WCHRI).
• Work closely with interdisciplinary teams and healthcare professionals to advance Pediatric Respirology care and trainee education.

Qualifications

• MD degree (or equivalent).
• Completed subspecialty training in Pediatrics and subspecialty residency in Pediatric Respirology.
• Certified or eligible to become a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (Pediatric Respirology) or equivalent.
• Eligibility for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta (CPSA).

Assets

• Additional training in sleep medicine and/or recent experience caring for pediatric patients with sleep disorders and long‑term ventilation.
• Experience and/or interest in rural and remote outreach, virtual care pathways and innovative approaches to patient care.
• Advanced research training or history of publishing and acquiring funding for research.
