Hardgoods Supervisor (Full‑Time)
About This Role
What You’ll Be Doing
- Ensuring a high level of customer service for assigned departments (cash, softgoods, hardgoods or grocery).
- Overseeing day‑to‑day operations.
- Training and communicating policies and procedures to department associates daily.
- Managing SKU, pricing issues, printing signs, labels, and operating the RF unit.
- Ordering and replenishing merchandise.
- Supervising a team while ensuring cross‑functional collaboration.
- Executing the GT System policies, procedures, and standards with all associates.
- Taking appropriate action and providing recommendations based on analysis of the assigned area.
- Leading merchandising activities.
- Participating in inventory management activities (e.g., cycle counts).
- Providing input to the store owner / manager on scheduling and quantification.
- Resolving customer complaints quickly and professionally.
- Opening and closing the store on a rotating basis.
- Actively involved and connected with the store’s local community.
- Supporting the store owner / manager on additional tasks and projects.
- Ensuring health and safety policies and guidelines are followed.
- Keeping the checkout work area clean and organized.
- Following loss prevention best practices.
- Complying with all policies when selling tobacco and lottery.
What You’ll Bring
Proven motivator / team leader.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Effective customer service, communication and interpersonal skills (with employees, customers, vendors, other third parties).Exceptional planning and organizational skills.Strong merchandising and analytical skills.1‑3 years retail management experience or equivalent Giant Tiger experience as a keyholder.When You’ll Work
A typical full‑time schedule will consist of day shifts, two evenings per week, and alternating weekends with a schedule of 35‑40 hours weekly. A typical part‑time schedule will be a mix of days, evenings, and weekends, up to 24 hours weekly.
