Job description

Global Atlantic is looking for an Associate Actuary, Modeling to join the Bermuda Actuarial team. This role will be based in our Hamilton, Bermuda office and will be part of the team supporting all aspects of the Bermuda model production process. The Associate Actuary will act as a point of contact between the Bermuda and onshore model development team, and will work closely with Actuarial Valuation, Finance, and Risk teams.THIS ROLE IS BASESD IN OUR BERMUDA OFFICE, MUST BE LOOKING TO RELOCATE TO BERMUDA RESPONSIBILITIES : Management of the production process for all Best Estimate Liability (BEL) projections under the Bermuda Economic Balance Sheet (EBS) frameworkCompiling and delivering model output to valuation teamsRunning routine and ad-hoc stress and sensitivity analyses at management’s requestWorking with Bermuda valuation team to analyze and explain model resultsCoordinating with the onshore model development team to validate and update new and existing cash flows modelsOnboarding new models (for new reinsurance deals) into the production valuation processPreparing model documentation and supporting audit and regulatory requestsQUALIFICATIONS : 3+ years experience in the (re)insurance industryASA (or equivalent) actively working toward Fellowship designation, or FSA / equivalentExperience with actuarial modeling software (MG ALFA preferred) development and productionLife and Annuity experience strongly preferredStrong technical and communication skillsCoding language experience a plus (Python preferred)Bermuda EBS experience a plusExperience with asset adequacy testing (CFT) preferred, but not requiredWorks well under pressure in a fast-paced environmentIs persistent when developing a solution to a problemBalances the dichotomy between working with a high-caliber team and individual productionTakes ownership of their responsibilitiesThrives in an environment that prioritizes open and honest communication and feedback.#LI-KS1Various jurisdictions have passed pay transparency laws that require companies provide salary ranges for any positions for which they are accepting applications. Global Atlantic has offices in Atlanta, Batesville, Bermuda, Boston, Des Moines, Hartford, Indianapolis, and New York City. The base salary range posted below is inclusive of the lowest cost of living geography to the highest in which we have a Global Atlantic office. Global Atlantic’s base salary range is determined through an analysis of similar positions in the external labor market. Base pay is just one component of Global Atlantic’s total compensation package for employees and at times we hire outside the boundaries of the salary range. Other rewards may include annual cash bonuses, long-term incentives (equity), generous benefits (including immediate vesting on employee contributions to a 401(k), as well as a company match on your contributions), and sales incentives. Actual compensation for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and / or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.
