Main Functions (Overview) :
We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Test Development Engineer able to develop automated tests for a variety of Socomec products. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of TestStand / LabVIEW / CVI, knowledge of Python, expert in hardware test automation methodologies. The primary responsibilities will include development of the test cases using TestStand / LabVIEW / Python, making electrical component selection (data acquisition systems, controls, etc.), and implementing the test automation processes with automated report generation.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities :
- Testing : Develop and implement test techniques using tools such as LabVIEW TestStand, Python, and other relevant software / hardware to accurately perform the testing.
- Database (SQL) : Save the test results to the SQL database and manage the test results data to feed then to their further chain of process.
- Test automation : Evaluation the need, make the electrical circuit component selection, create the desktop application (Python) or interface using LabVIEW, TestStand and implements the test automation with the results saved to the database.
- Issue Investigation and Troubleshooting : Investigate and troubleshoot issues during the testing, identifying root causes and proposing effective solutions to address identified challenges.
- Stay Updated on Emerging Trends : Stay updated on emerging trends and advancements in test automation and software development techniques, actively incorporating relevant technologies into the design process to enhance system performance and efficiency. Ex. Grafana dashboards, quality metrics.
- Documentation and Reporting : Document test details, results, and findings in technical reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders, ensuring clear communication of complex concepts and outcomes. Also generate test reports automatically from the testing tools / desktop application for end users.
Essential Qualifications, Knowledge, and Skills :
Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.Minimum of 5 years of related industrial experience in the field of Electrical / Computer Science / Test Engineering.Proven experience in the test automation systems, with a focus on Python, LabVIEW – TestStand, SQL database.Familiarity with the software development life cycle.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret test results and propose effective solutions.Familiarity with communication protocols for integrating hardware meters, tools, equipment to the software.Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment and interact with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with effective communication and interpersonal skills.Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines effectively.Preferred Qualifications :
Familiarity with Embedded systems, C / C++,Knowledge of digital control techniques, microcontroller-based systems, and firmware development for electronics applications.Working Conditions :
This role is in an office environment, with regular visits to the manufacturing environmentMust be available for business travel to locations in Canada, USA, and Europe. (0 - 15%)Compensation :
