The Senior Paralegal’s role is to provide support of legal matters to the in-house legal department including but not limited to general corporate matters, overseeing subsidiaries located in Europe, Latin America and Asia; and to be a point of contact for external requests related to corporate governance and Husky’s day to day business. Manage intellectual property assets and processes in a corporate setting.

Key Responsibilities / Areas of Accountability

Corporate Governance

• Extensive experience in dealing with Public Company requirements
• Strong knowledge of corporate law, policies and procedures in Canada, and elsewhere
• Prepare and maintain official company records, including minutes, bylaws, resolutions, and registers
• Ensure all annual and other required corporate filings are completed and submitted accurately and on time
• Draft and organize legal documents, and prepare signature packages for review by lawyers
• Manage and store agreements, corporate documents, entity information in various systems
• Communicate with management, shareholders and third parties to gather information, provide status updates, and manage the flow of information
• Respond to Know Your Client (KYC) requests
• Maintain various corporate lists
• Support Husky stakeholders in preparing corporate documents related to customer visits

Qualifications

Education

Post-secondary education (College diploma)

Paralegal License is an asset but not a requirement.

Related Experience

Minimum 10 years’ experience in a supporting role within a corporate in-house legal department setting, or equivalent experience, or alternatively 12+ years of experience in a private practice setting.
