We invite applications for the position of : Carpenter Under the supervision of the Director of Operations or designate, the successful applicant will provide carpentry services including installation, repair, and maintenance of buildings, furniture and fixtures, construction, and / or cut and patch of existing structures.
This position may be required to start work at various locations. Successful applicants will have : completed Grade 12; Interprovincial or B.
- C. Trades Qualification in Carpentry; demonstrated training and work experience in current B.C. construction / maintenance safety requirements and WCB Regulation relating to the trade and industry;
- valid BC Class 5 driver's license. Applicants will be expected to : have knowledge of current construction safety practices;
- be able to read and interpret plans and specifications related to Carpentry; possess the physical condition and health to carry out the required duties of this position in a safe and efficient manner, including climbing ladders and working at heights;
- be self-motivated and work alone with minimum supervision and within a team environment; maintain good interpersonal skills and have good verbal and written communication skills;
have current working knowledge of Outlook, Work Order system and Microsoft Office; complete the required District's Health & Safety training.
The following experience and training are considered an asset : two (2) years' experience as a certified Carpenter in maintenance / construction practices and procedures in a commercial environment;
Fall Protection Certificate / training; Scaffold Erection Certificate / training; First Aid Level 1 Certificate. This is full time continuing position starting as soon as possible, working 40 hours per week at a wage rate of $37.
64 per hour, plus a comprehensive employee benefit package including extended health and dental coverage, short term and long term disability insurance and participation in a defined benefit pension plan.
Effective July 1, 2024 the hourly rate will be increased to $38.65. Qualified candidates are invited to apply online at www.
