We are looking for an enthusiastic individual, who may have an affinity for rodeo, to fill a permanent, full-time position at the Canadian Professional Rodeo Association office located in Airdrie. The candidate must be computer literate, fast paced, able to multitask independently, have a positive attitude, have excellent communication skills and outstanding customer service.
The successful candidate will develop a good understanding of rodeo and the CPRA rule book. Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft excel is required.
Main Objectives :
- Work as a vital part of the team to provide an excellent standard of customer service, creating a warm, friendly environment for our members and fans.
- Ensure that our members are treated as valued customers and our highest priority.
- Ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the Central Rodeo Entry System (CRES) for the CPRA.
- Responsible for maintenance and production of call logs and reports and the data entry related thereto.
- Responsible for supervision, instruction, and delegation of tasks to CRES operator(s) (summer position).
- Demonstrate leadership and contribute to the team culture by dedicating time to ensure employees are encouraged, motivated and focused
- Work on special projects and tasks as delegated
- This position reports directly to the CEO.
Responsibilities : CRES :
Full knowledge of the rulebook as specific to CRES and the ability to apply those rules as needed on a day-to-day basis.Manage entry dates with Director of Rodeo.Ensure all information is input into the system and ready for entries to be taken, in conjunction with Payout Lead. This includes Rodeo Setup in Accuterm.Answer any member’s inquiries regarding the draw process and outcome.Assist CRES operator with entries, grace period, callbacks and trades. When no CRES operator is on-site, CRES manager is responsible for all entries, grace period, callbacks and trades.Process position draws after entries are complete; run reports and update the system for the next day’s entries / callback.Post the rodeo draws online.Sending online files to web master and / or uploading directly to the website.Process the stock draw – correspond with each rodeo’s stock contractor for dates / related information.Post stock draw online and send files to the webmaster and / or upload directly to the website.Prepare and send out secretaries’ packages for each rodeo.Work with IT on keeping the entry system as up to date as possibleMaintain stock files.Updating stock counts.Tracking injured animal reports and updating records.Rodeos
Assist the Director of Rodeo with correspondence regarding the rodeo approval process each year.Sending out documents / packages to all committees for the upcoming rodeo season.Ensure all approval documents from the committees are in for the approvals process. (Insurance, original approval, all signatures included etc.)Prepare approvals ready for review by Director of Rodeo to approve and / or to present to the Board of Directors for approval.Prepare approvals for Website in appropriate format (to be reviewed by 2nd CPRA team member prior to posting) and post on the website.Once approved by CPRA, sending approvals to PRCA / WPRA.Send out approval packages to committees.File all documents received / sent out in appropriate places within the CPRA office.Ensure any updates / changes are sent to the appropriate departments / places.Update and maintain Google Calendar with all rodeo details including ground rules, entry dates, trade deadline, re-entries, etc.Canadian Finals Rodeo (CFR) / Other Rodeo Finals
Take care of all stock and entry processes for the CFR & other rodeo finals.Track stock statistics & records.Sending out any misc. information to committee’s (member cards, CFR packages / registration etc).CFR Committee Convention– CRES Meeting (if applicable).Sending and receiving stock ballot information.Provide updated information for stock and stock contractor of the year ballots to the CPRA team member responsible.Organize stall assignments prior to CFR.Ideal Candidate :

April – October (end of CFR week) hours are Monday – Friday, 40 hours per week (8am-4pm)
October (end of CFR week) – April hours are Monday – Thursday, 30 hours per week (8 : 30am-4pm).
Salary rate is competitive and dependent on experience, health benefits after 3 months and paid vacation. Range : $24-$28 / hour
